Thornton salutes Orient character

The O's, who had not scored in their previous three games, were unable to find a breakthrough in the first half. But they finally found the net in the 63rd minute when Aaron Doran capitalised on defensive uncertainty and crossed for Thornton to slide home.Thornton made it 2-0 nine minutes later following good work from Jonathan Tehoue and Scott McGleish on the right-hand side."It was a great result and overall a great team performance but the three points was the most important thing," said Thornton. "After Tuesday's defeat at Oldham the gaffer had a good chat after the game and on Thursday and Friday it was all about getting the team spirit and confidence back on in the training ground."Manager Geraint Williams revealed he was about to replace Doran before the young midfielder played a part in the decisive opening goal."Yes, he was coming off but I decided to leave him on. It was a great managerial decision," Williams joked. "He had a shot blocked and Sean followed up to put it in. Sometimes these things go for you, sometimes they don't. This time it did."
