Mowbray lifted by second-half display

Republic of Ireland international Robbie Keane scored a hat-trick after the break to see off Jimmy Calderwood's Kilmarnock. But Mowbray admitted he was not happy after a lacklustre opening 45 minutes."The first half wasn't good enough really and we made the players aware of that at half-time and thankfully we found the right formula to get the right result," he told Sky Sports News. "We needed to be better and we were."Ultimately this team has to find standards that are very, very high and sustain them for 90 minutes."Mowbray had cautious words of praise for Keane, who has now scored eight goals in eight games."The bottom line is that it is a team thing but Robbie stuck the ball in the back of the net and we're thankful he's doing that," said the Hoops boss.Keane played down his role in the win, saying: "The most important thing is getting the win and getting into the next round."The first half we didn't play well and the manager said a few things and we were better in the second half."I believe in my own ability - that if I get chances I'll score goals."The on-loan Tottenham striker admitted the cup has a new importance for Celtic after they fell 13 points behind Rangers in the Scottish Premier League title race."This is realistically our best chance so we look forward to the next round," said Keane.Calderwood lamented the missed opportunities which saw his side hit the woodwork twice before Celtic scored."That's what has costed us - the quality of the finishing," said Calderwood, who admitted he was a Keane fan."He's a joy to watch but it'd be better if was in your team."
