Opinion is split about Thierry Henry's Sky Sports debut

Thierry Henry was making his debut as a regular Sky Sports pundit today. If you were unaware of this, you probably haven’t watched Sky Sports in a couple of months, because they haven’t exactly been shy about telling us about it. His debut was a Super Sunday double of West Ham v Hull and Henry’s old team Arsenal heading to Manchester City. Reaction to this momentous occasion was largely divided into two camps. The first camp could be broadly described as hella excited – including these people. It's Thierry Henry day! — Andrew Dalton (@lufcstats) January 18, 2015 Seeing Thierry Henry on my TV every Sunday is something I can get used to — George (@George_Royce97) January 18, 2015 🎵🎶 Thierry Henry, Thierry Henry, Thierry Henry, Thierry Henry 🎶🎵 — Arsenal News (@__arsenal_news_) January 18, 2015 The other camp comprised people who were sick to death of Henry before he’d even made it in front of a camera. Thierry Henry blah blah blah owe it all to sky blah blah blah repeat ad nauseum. — Graham Kingsbury (@grayjam68) January 18, 2015 this sky hype with henry is ridiculous — gearoid galavan (@ggalavan) January 18, 2015 And there were roughly seven million versions of this tweet… Thierry Henry's on Sky Sports?! FFS, they could have mentioned it. — Tony Mogan (@TonyMogan) January 18, 2015 Bloody hell, what a surprise, Sky could have told us they'd signed Thierry Henry as a pundit — United Religion (@Unitedology) January 18, 2015 Thierry Henry working as a pundit for Sky? You'd have thought they might have mentioned it once or twice. — Heart & Hand (@ibroxrocks) January 18, 2015 Funny that sky haven't mentioned today is Thierry Henry's first Super Sunday gig. Missed opportunity sky. 😖😖😖 — Mr Geldard (@GeldardJames) January 18, 2015 We think we even spotted a hint of sarcasm in Jamie Carragher’s tweet… You may not be aware but Thierry Henry has joined @SkyFootball and is making his debut today. 12:30 Sky Sports 1. — Jamie Carragher (@Carra23) January 18, 2015 Henry’s fellow studio pundit for the day was Graeme Souness, who seemed to feel he needed to up his game. Discussing Henry’s former team Arsenal, he came up with this… Graeme Souness on Arsenal: "Will you be disappointed if any of those players came home with your daughter? It's a team of son-in-laws." #AFC — Football__Tweet (@Football__Tweet) January 18, 2015 With all the Arsenal chat, it was easy to forget there was another match first. Henry's first game for sky… Wait for it… Wait for it… …….West Ham vs Hull!!!!!!! — Sara (@Sara_156) January 18, 2015 And some of the Hull fans felt Souness and Henry’s praise of Tom Huddlestone was wide of the mark. Can't you tell Souness and Henry don't watch us much. Huddlestone has been bang average this season. — Adam Evo (@Adam_Evo) January 18, 2015 Nevertheless, by and large it was a promising start from the former Barcelona star. Thierry Henry on super Sunday…brilliant already — Tubes (@TubesSoccerAM) January 18, 2015
