Birmingham rekindle Piquionne move after striker dumps them out of Cup

Hotshot: Piquionne scores against BirminghamPortsmouth's FA Cup hero Frederic Piquionne is being tracked by the man he helped dump out of the competition - Birmingham manager Alex McLeish. Piquionne is on loan at Fratton Park from French side Lyon and McLeish would need to stump up £3million to sign the striker on a permanent basis in the summer. The Blues boss had tried to buy the striker in the January transfer window but failed after Pompey and Lyon were unable to agree on ending his season-long loan, says The Mirror. Piquionne fired Portsmouth to a Wembley cup semi-final after netting twice in a 2-0 win over McLeish's men on Saturday. And it seems his second strike - a fine solo run followed by a cool finish under Joe Hart - has convinced McLeish to make another move for the forward.   GRAHAM POLL: Liam Ridgewell's 'goal' shows that it's time for bumbling Blatter to cross the linePortsmouth 2 Birmingham 0: See you back at Wembley Harry!BIRMINGHAM CITY FC
