Brush: 'I have been humbled and touched by the Southend United supporters attitude towards me'

Sacked Shrimpers assistant manager Paul Brush gives little away in his interview with the Evening Echo. Brush: 'I respect the fact that the chairman spoke to me face to face'Well the Echo is obviously proud of their exclusive interview with the former assistant manager of Southend United, if they had got Brushy to actually say anything.Online extracts released this morning have Paul Brush giving the usual 'very heavy heart that I left Southend' sort of stuff, and what a 'privilege to work alongside Steve Tilson for the last six and a half years', but nothing about what went on in the boardroom. Then again he want to work again and chairman don't like whistle blowers so it's wise Brushy has kept his council, whatever he truly feels inside. That will all come out one day. Brushy told www.echo-news.co.uk: "We (Tilly and I) have shared many fantastic occasions and matches at Southend United — memories that will last a lifetime. Over the years I have been humbled and touched by the Southend United supporters' attitude towards me. The chairman has made his decision and I respect the fact that he spoke to me face to face. The team needs to win football matches and I sincerely hope that starts on Saturday against Exeter City." S24 can't say enough what a shock this still is, and believe Ron Martin has made the wrong decision, but again wish him all the luck in the future. Can't see him being out of work for long, hopefully without Tilly just yet.For the full interview go here:www.echo-news.co.uk/sport/theblues/blues_news/5048905.Brush_off_with_a_heavy_heart/
