Varney: Rams haven't backed me

The striker was signed by former manager Paul Jewell in November 2008 on a loan deal from Charlton that became permanent in January 2009. He has only made 14 appearances for the Rams and scored just one goal.Varney is on loan at Hillsborough, where he has scored nine goals in 32 outings for the Yorkshire club."I feel I've not really been given a chance at Derby," the 27-year-old told the Derby Telegraph. "The manager (Nigel Clough) has sent me out on loan to get game time and score goals, which I've done, but I still can't get in the team when I go back."The Leicester-born striker concedes he may be forced to move away from Pride Park to resurrect his career and admits he would relish a move to his hometown club.He added: "I suppose I'm in the shop window.
