Everton boss Moyes backs Jagielka for England place in South Africa

Gatecrasher? Everton's Phil JagielkaPhil Jagielka is being backed to gatecrash England's World Cup squad and fulfil an ambition he hardly dared dream of earlier this season. The Everton centre back ruptured knee ligaments last season and sensed his World Cup aspirations might disappear after complications set in and led to further surgery. A niggling thigh strain threatens his involvement against Hull City at Goodison Park tomorrow, but boss David Moyes said: 'If he gets his fitness levels up a bit, there is no reason why he cannot finish the season really strongly and stake a claim. He already looks pretty much up to speed. 'Fabio Capello will come to quite a few of our games to monitor Leighton Baines, so that will be Jags' opportunity to show he's worth a place in the squad.' Moyes, who watched Anderlecht striker Romelu Lukaku, 16, midweek, also confirmed he is trying to extend Landon Donovan's loan from LA Galaxy by a month.  Everton in talks with LA to keep loan star Donovan for the rest of seasonEverton enter the race to sign the 'new Drogba', Belgian wonderkid LukakuEVERTON v Hull: David Moyes may risk Tim Cahill as injuries take their tollEVERTON FC
