Boyd grateful to Scotland fans

Boyd was handed a return by new boss Craig Levein for the friendly against the Czechs at Hampden after he had withdrawn his services under previous boss George Burley. There were fears that the Scotland fans would turn on the Rangers player but the reception was overwhelmingly positive when he replaced Kenny Miller in the second half of Scotland's 1-0 win, seconds after Scott Brown had scored the winner.Boyd said: "I am delighted to be back. I always said I wanted to be back in a Scotland jersey and I got the chance. I thank the fans for the reception they gave me and hopefully I can repay them with goals that qualify us through the next campaign."As a footballer you have to focus on what you are doing. You don't let anything around you affect you."It was no different in this game but it was good to get an ovation like that when I came on and I thank the fans very much."
