Gilmartin: I'll come back stronger

The 22-year-old forced his way back into the Saddlers' XI for Saturday's clash at Southampton following some uncharacteristic errors from Clayton Ince in recent matches. And although his first start since October ended in a 5-1 defeat, Gilmartin is determined to hang onto the number one jersey. He told the Express and Star: "It's mine to lose, the aim is to keep the shirt, get a new contract and then keep the shirt for next season. I have to keep the jersey and keep playing well."I'm in there and I want to play well. If I make mistakes I deal with them positively but every keeper will make them. The gaffer has given it to me, he said I've worked hard in training and I'm delighted he's seen it."Coming back into the team you want to do well and get a clean sheet but there's not much you can do sometimes. Saturday hurt me more than anyone."
