And the Aston Villa player admits his versatility may help him to nail down a spot in the World Cup squad this summer.Milner was surprisingly named as a right-back - along with Wes Brown - when Capello revealed his party for the final game before the provisional squad for South Africa has to be chosen. The former Newcastle player has predominantly played in central midfield, wide right and wide left for Villa. But he has also been switched to right-back on occasions when Villa have brought on other attacking options in matches. And Capello also used Milner as a left-back during the latter stages of the home World Cup qualifier with Belarus at Wembley earlier in the season.Milner told Press Association Sport: "When I've played at right-back for Villa, it's usually been when we are behind and chasing the game so it was more like a wing-back."My best position is definitely more attacking central midfield, which I am enjoying immensely at the moment, or right-wing and left-wing."That is more suited to my game but, if the manager asks me to play right-back, I'll do it to the best of my ability."I would never turn it down. You just want to get out there and play. If he asks me to play there, I'd do it as well as I can. I'll give it my all."Milner added: "Maybe the versatility can count in your favour when it comes to the World Cup."Tournament football is different in the sense you are away for a few weeks, you can't call-up players from outside of the squad - and you will get injuries and suspensions."If being versatile does help me, that is great. Obviously it is down to the England manager to decide that."I'll keep doing as well as I can and keep putting forward as good a case as I can to be involved in the summer."Milner is adamant the atmosphere in the England squad is fine after the much-publicised spat between deposed skipper John Terry and Wayne Bridge. And he hopes Bridge will change his mind and make himself available to play again for his country.Milner said: "The atmosphere is fine. We are here to play football. Nothing has changed there."We are here as footballers, everything has been fine, and we've got a job to do."We concentrate on what we can do on the field, be professional, and get on with the job in hand, and that's what we will do."It is down to Wayne Bridge whether he changes his mind. That is down to him."He is a top player, and you want your best players available, so if he was to be available again, that's great, but it's his decision."Milner is confident Stoke defender Ryan Shawcross will be able to recover after being involved in the incident which saw Arsenal's Aaron Ramsey break his leg on Saturday.Shawcross trained with England for the first time today after his call-up by Capello.Milner said: "I spoke to Ryan a bit this morning going to training. It is a big thing being in your first England squad - and it is a great thing as well."It is about being as comfortable as you can and us making it as easy as possible for him to feel at home as quickly as possible."He is a good player with a good head on his shoulders. These things happen in football. I think we all know what he is like as a player."I don't think he is a dirty player by any means. He is a very good player who goes in fairly."
