Kinnear puts contract talk on hold to focus on keeping Newcastle up

It's good to talk: But Kinnear will bide his time Joe Kinnear has refused to talk about his future at Newcastle while the club is involved in a relegation battle.Kinnear was placed in temporary charge at St James' Park last September and despite his failure to climb the Premier League table, the 62-year-old insists he has been offered a long-term deal. But the Magpies are just one point above the drop zone and Kinnear insists maintaining the club's top-flight status is his priority.'We've agreed the contract, and it's there on the table, and we've had a meeting about the future of the club,' Kinnear told Newcastle's official website. 'But we came to the conclusion that the best decision to make was to get round the table again at the end of the season. 'We've talked about what's the best way to take Newcastle forward. I've had a fantastic offer, but we shook hands on it and said we'd address it at the end of the season. 'It's all about survival. Before the club can take the next step it's about us cementing ourselves in the Premier League.'  N'Zogbia won't have sleepless nights if Kinnear takes Newcastle downThe gloves are off as Given blasts former club Newcastle over Man City moveHey big spenders - so refined or profligates extraordinaire?
