Liverpool lead chase for Fabregas

According to the Daily mail Liverpool could be a possible destination for Cesc Fabregas. The Spanish midfielder looks surplus to requirements at the Nou Camp and could be available for as little as 30 million, which is 5 million less than Barcelona paid back in 2011. Fabregas could be seen as a long term replacement for the Anfield captain Steven Gerrard, but it remains to be seen if Rodgers can persuade the talented midfielder to join the Merseyside giants. Liverpool did produce some awesome football last season, impressing week in week out with their attacking flare and maybe the Rodgers way of playing just might appeal to Fabregas. The relatively low asking price for the midfielder is well within Brendan Rodgers budget and that could see the Liverpool boss fighting to the end for his signature. We also have more information on the transfer of Rickie Lambart who as undergone a medical with Liverpool on Saturday and will complete his 4 million pound move on Monday, 17 years after being released by the club as a 15 year old. The reds have also made another move for a second Southampton player in Adam Lallana, making an improved and final offer of 25 million pounds for the attacking midfielder.
