Adebayor banned for four matches

Emmanuel AdebayorManchester City must battle on without Emmanuel Adebayor until Easter after the big striker was slapped with a FOUR-match ban. The Blues strongly considered an appeal against referee Steve Bennett's decision to red-card the Togo international for his flailing arm into the throat of Stoke's Ryan Shawcross on Wednesday night. But the prospect of the punishment being extended to a five-match suspension for a "frivolous" appeal swayed them against it. Adebayor faces five weeks without a game for his second suspension of the season - he received a three-match ban in September for stamping on Arsenal's Robin van Persie. He is immediately ruled out of Saturday's clash with Chelsea at Stamford Bridge, and will miss the March trips to Sunderland and Fulham as well as the home clash with Wigan. What do you think?
