Gers are ready for Bhoys - McCoist

While Rangers were unable to bolster their squad at all in January, Hoops boss Tony Mowbray brought eight new players to Parkhead, including on-loan Tottenham striker Keane. But, despite being reportedly the highest-paid player in Scottish football history, McCoist sees no reason to fear Celtic's high-profile capture. And he insists Rangers will have done their homework on all of this weekend's derby debutants ahead of Sunday's showdown."Keane is a fantastic signing, let's be honest," said the Ibrox assistant manager."He's a wonderful player who is very, very gifted. I've enjoyed watching him over the years and Tony has wanted to bring in his own players. Now he has done that."Time will tell if they can knit with each other and gel sooner rather than later but that's not really our concern."Of course, we'll have a good look at them and there are one or two players there who our lads haven't played against before."By the time they face them, they'll have been well briefed on what to expect and we'll be totally clued up on them."In one sense, I suppose it's quite exciting to have new players to be preparing to come up against."You have to say Rasmussen looks like he can score a goal while we've noted what the lad Josh Thompson has done at the back."To be quite frank, they've signed players all over the park so we won't be leaving any stone unturned."Victory for Rangers would allow them to restore their 10-point advantage at the summit of the Clydesdale Bank Premier League, with a game in hand still to be played at St Johnstone.McCoist knows such a scenario would not necessarily mean the title race is over but he does concede a comeback from their bitter rivals would be unlikely. He told Rangers News: "With the way the league campaign has gone so far and how things are looking just now, people are saying Celtic have to win this game."At the same time, you have to look at the situation from our point of view and if we can win this game, it would put a serious dent in their championship hopes."We certainly wouldn't win anything at this stage but you'd have to say it would put a real dampener on things for them."That's the way we have to look at it. We just have to go into the game with a really positive attitude and a belief we can take three points."If we can do that, hopefully it can take us a step nearer to winning the championship."Nothing would be would be finished if we got a victory, absolutely nothing, but let's not kid ourselves on - it would be a massive three points."
