Bolland salutes Silkmen spirit

The Mariners looked set for a vital victory when Jamie Devitt fired them ahead shortly before half-time, but a free-kick from Richard Butcher brought Macclesfield level in the 58th minute.The Silkmen remain eight points clear of Grimsby following the draw - their third in succession - and Bolland said: "We knew Grimsby would be desperate to end their run of 23 games without a win and we knew it would be like a cup final."It was important we didn't lose the game. I thought we had some good chances to actually win it."We're happy with the way we worked and battled and on another night we could have had all three points."We had the lion's share of the play in the first half and the goal came against the run of play. Then a wonder strike got us back in the game. He has curled it in the top corner. The wind was quite deceptive."
