Howe lavishes praise on Pitman

Veteran Steve Fletcher scored the other as the Cherries moved back into second place in League Two on the back of their biggest home win of the season.Pitman also missed three other clear-cut chances but Howe recognised his tenacity and determination to make up for his failures. He said: "One of the big reasons he has been a success is that he does not go missing when things are not going right for him. It is a great strength to have for a centre-forward. He takes responsibility and does not mind if he's failed once or twice."Howe's side have now lost only once in seven matches and are back in contention for automatic promotion following their failure to beat lowly Macclesfield last Saturday. The mananger added: "We had numerous chances in the first half and I was disappointed when we were level at half-time. We should have been two goals ahead at least. I told the players to be patient and said the goals would come and that is what happened."
