Clarets wait on Eckersley fee

The Clarets signed the out-of-contract 20-year-old on a four-year deal last summer but United are still entitled to compensation for training costs as the player is under 24.A tribunal committee met on Monday to discuss the matter but did not deliver a verdict, promising to do so "later this week".Burnley are thought to have offered around £200,000 for a player United valued at around £1million.Burnley manager Brian Laws said: "We had a very good hearing and put our case across. We remain hopeful of a positive outcome, but we must now await the verdict."Eckersley is yet to make an impact at Turf Moor having so far been limited to just three appearances in cup competitions.
