Wigan whizkid McCarthy handed first Republic of Ireland call up by Trapattoni
Wigan teenager James McCarthy was today called up by Republic of Irelandmanager Giovanni Trapattoni for next week's friendly against Brazil. Midfielder McCarthy, 19, received his first call after a series of promisingperformances for the Latics, who he joined from Hamilton last summer.
