McLeish keen to keep veteran Taylor

Taylor, who is out of contract in the summer, has been at St Andrews since 2003 and has made in excess of 230 appearances for the club. However, he has featured just once in the Premier League this season when on-loan keeper Joe Hart was ineligible to face his parent club Manchester City in November. The Northern Ireland international recently expressed his frustration at losing his place to Hart, but confirmed he still wanted to stay at Birmingham. And Blues boss McLeish is optimistic that a suitable deal can be agreed to ensure the 38-year-old is part of his squad next year."We haven't sat down to speak yet, but I don't see any reason why not," said McLeish. "Maik is at a cracking level of fitness for a man of his age. "He's a dedicated professional and we'll still need three goalkeepers, so I don't see why we can't agree something with Maik Taylor for another year." Birmingham 10/11, Draw 12/5, Wigan 16/5
