McGeady on way out at Spartak

Spartak Moscow head coach Valery Karpin has sidelined Irish international midfielder Aiden McGeady for disobeying team orders."McGeady has been removed from practice sessions for failing to comply with the demands of the head coach both during the practices and the matches," Karpin said. "Now everything depends on him, nobody else. He has the chance to return if he is in form and willing to comply with the demands of the team's coaches.""Everything else is an internal affair of the club."The 27-year-old midfielder, who has made no comments on the decision, is expected to continue training with the club's youth team. There had been rumours that a dispute between McGeady and Karpin after the recent match with CSKA, which Spartak lost 1-0, was the reason behind the Irishman's exile.McGeady is expected to leave the club during the winter break. Recent Irish press reports said that a number of English clubs: Everton, Aston Villa, Fullham and Newcastle had all shown an interest in snapping up McGeady.Boris Pozdnyakov, one of Spartak assistant coaches said that McGeady had lost his motivation and was not practicing and playing at full strength in Spartak's recent matches."He (McGeady) has repeatedly issued a desire to continue his career in England," Pozdnyakov told "Sport Express" daily."The club head coach couldn't tolerate that took strict measures. I think he was quite right."The former Celtic star joined Spartak in August 2010. He has played 83 matches and scored 13 goals with the Moscow side and was part of the side that finished second in the league in 2012.
