Latics travel to Deepdale

Mellor and Schmeltz return Athletic face a trip to Deepdale tomorrow night to face Preston North End in the Johnson's Paint Trophy. David Mellor will return to the squad as he is available after completing a three-match suspension following his sending off at Rotherham. Sidney Schmeltz also wins a recall to the squad. Matteo Lanzoni was injured on Saturday and will not take a place in the team.
