Shrimpers swoop for Jack

Former Trinidad and Tobago international goalkeeper Kelvin Jack has joined Southend on a non-contract basis.The 33-year-old has been without a club since breaking his leg during a loan spell with Barnsley and has been training with the Shrimpers since the start of the season.Jack, who has 33 international caps, will provide cover for Steve Mildenhall as Ian Joyce is set to leave Roots Hall next week.The former Reading, Dundee United and Gillingham keeper will be with Southend until the end of the season and is included in the squad to face MK Dons on Saturday.
