Papac keen to hit target again

Papac grabbed the final goal in October's 2-1 Scottish Premier League victory over St Johnstone, who host Rangers at McDiarmid Park on Saturday. The strike was the Bosnian's only goal this season and his third since signing for Rangers in 2006.Papac said: "I remember playing St Johnstone earlier in the season as it is not often that I score the winning goal in a game."It's usually Boydy (Kris Boyd) or Kenny (Miller) or Nacho (Novo) but this time it was me and it was a great feeling."I just remember getting the ball and my first thought was to shoot. Fortunately it went in which was lucky because we didn't play well that day."St Johnstone made it difficult but I was delighted to score and help the team."Whittaker took his tally for the season into double figures on Sunday when Rangers extended their lead at the top of the SPL to 10 points with a 3-0 victory over Hibernian."It would be nice if I could get another goal soon," Papac told the club's official website."I see Steven Whittaker scoring 10 goals now and this makes me think that perhaps I have to do a bit better!"Rangers can extend the gap on Celtic to 13 points with victory in the lunchtime kick-off, with Dundee United visiting Parkhead later in the day.But Papac insists they cannot take their lead for granted after losing a seven-point advantage two seasons ago and overturning the same deficit last term. The left-back said: "Anything can happen, we know that, but I am happy that we have a good lead in place and that it's in our hands, that is important."When you are behind in the title race there is a different pressure as you are always trying to catch the team above you."That can be difficult and it is not nice but when you are at Rangers you have to win every game anyway, that's something you learn very quickly."The expectations are always very high but I like this situation, it makes you give your best every time you go on to the pitch."Saints go into the game on a high following their stunning 5-1 victory over third-placed Hibs. And they received another boost on Thursday when Murray Davidson was called into the Scotland Under-21 squad for next month's UEFA qualifier against Azerbaijan."Murray gives us something different in being a box-to-box midfielder who gets into good scoring positions," coach Billy Stark said."He's also a physical presence. Now he's showing he can perform consistently in the Premier League and deserves a call-up."
