Around League Two: Spireites Set The Pace

Chesterfield are clear at the top of the table and have added two new signings to their squad in recent days Manager Paul Cook has dipped into the non-league game to add midfielder Ollie Banks from FC United of Manchester, handing the 20-year-old a two-year contract. That move comes shortly after the Spireites signed Gary McSheffrey on a short-term deal after he ended his long association with Coventry City. McSheffrey, who was re-signed for the Sky Blues by current Northampton manager Aidy Boothroyd, came on as a substitute in Saturday's win against AFC Wimbledon which stretched Chesterfield's lead at the top to four points.
