Whats the Mata You? Not to Mourinho's taste?

Whats the story with Juan Mata? Chelsea's best player of the last two seasons. The Spanish star made 64 appearances for Chelsea last season, assisting 35 goals and scoring 19 himself - yet he has been an unused substitute on three of Chelseas first four games of the season. The Metro reported that Chelsea's Mata cited a niggling thigh injury as the reason why he has had a small role in Chelseas fixtures thus far. Despite this speculation continues to grow that Mata could be on his way out of the West London club come January - with Barcelona and Manchester United reportedly interested. And with the World Cup coming up in 2014 Mata has to be playing regulary to force his way into Vicente del Bosque's Spain side. Chelsea have a rich abundance of midfield options, with new signings Andre Schurrie and Willian battling it out Eden Hazard, Oscar, Kevin De Bruyne and Juan Mata for a place in Mourinhos three attacking midfield berths. Is he just not Mourinhos cup of tea? Does 26 year old Mata, fit in to the Portugeese' plans for swift, counter-attacking football?Rumours are rife that Mata simply just isn't in Mourinhos starting XI - Chelseas trip to Goodison Park on Saturday to face Everton will be interesting. If Mata doesn't start again, speculation will continue to grow.
