Bluebirds defender happy at City

The 18-year-old starlet has made his name this season having burst onto the scene with City, earning full international recognition from Wales manager John Toshack.Manchester United and Arsenal are tracking his progress amid reports of a move to the top flight, but the right-back insists the first-team opportunities on offer at Cardiff compared to Old Trafford or the Emirates makes staying in the Welsh capital a more appealing proposition."If I went to a Premier League club I wouldn't get to play so much, so I can rule out a move like that," said Matthews in the Western Mail."I'm happy to remain at Cardiff for as long as possible. There is a great bunch of players here and a good coaching staff. I play regularly here, so I'm learning anyway."Asked about rumours tying him to a high-profile switch, the youngster added: "I just try to forget about it to be honest and remain level-headed. I'm just concentrating on playing my best football for Cardiff and, with the speculation over and the January transfer window gone, I can just get on and do that."
