Serbia international Nemanja Vidic has reiterated his desire to stay at
Manchester United despite intense speculation continuing to link him
with a move away from Old Trafford in the summer.
Last month, talk of a bust-up with manager Sir Alex Ferguson was
refuted, but the exit rumours have continued to circulate as they have
since last summer.
It was suggested before the current campaign got underway that
Vidic's wife was unhappy in England and was seeking to leave
Manchester.
However, the defender has now told Belgrade daily Vecernje Novosti:
"I will repeat for the 100th time, my contract with Manchester is until
the summer of 2012 and I want to stay in Old Trafford until the last
day.
"Only this is true, everything else is a baseless story. I have
made a career in Manchester and I respect that fully. No-one has
contacted me and I have not spoken to anyone.
"Firstly, I had troubles with a calf muscle, but I started with
training too early and felt strong pain in the back of a calf. I am
healthy (now). I feel strong and I believe I can return in full."
