On-loan defender happy at Rovers

The centre-back has made over 100 appearances for the Sky Blues following his switch from West Ham in 2006 but, after struggling to secure a regular first-team berth since Christmas, he opted to move on a month's loan to Rovers this week. And the 25-year-old marked his debut with a stunning bicycle-kick that went in off the underside of the crossbar as Doncaster beat Yorkshire rivals Sheffield Wednesday 2-0 on Tuesday. When asked if he sees a way back at Coventry, Ward told reporters: "No, I think there are a few people in front of me and they are happy for that, so I'm happy to be here (at Doncaster) for this month and hopefully it goes well."But Ward is not looking too far ahead and is simply focusing on getting games under his belt.He added: "I'm out of contract so I just want to play well."I've missed a lot of football this season so I want to play games until the end of the season and that's all I want to do at the minute. That's my focus."
