Premier League new boys Crystal Palace announced on Wednesday that they have signed striker Dwight Gayle from former Championship rivals Peterborough United for an undisclosed fee.Gayle, 22, joins Palace on a four-year contract after a season in which he scored 20 times for Peterborough and third-tier Dagenham and Redbridge, with whom he turned professional only 12 months ago."I'm ecstatic really. I just want to get pre-season started now," Gayle told the Palace website. "The chance came and I had to grab it because I might not get another chance. To be playing in the Premier League from where I've come from is a big achievement really."Palace manager Ian Holloway said: "I'm absolutely delighted. But now it makes a huge statement for us and it proves that I don't care where I get my people from. I believe it's about how good you're going to be, not just how good you are already."
