Early Return To Training For Some

With qualification for the qualifying rounds of the Europa league, Hibs have some players back in pre-season training already Hibs captain James McPake and Tim Clancy are determined to be ready for this season's Europa League qualifiers so are back in training already. The Easter Road side are back in competitive action on 18 July when they will play the first leg of their Europa League second round qualifying tie. McPake and Clancy missed the last few weeks of the season due to injury but both returned to the club's training facilities earlier this week, along with a handful of others.Manager Pat Fenlon said: "We wanted the boys who have been struggling a bit with little niggles started that bit earlier to give them as much time as possible. We had planned to have them back together as a group a little bit sooner but I thought that it might be more beneficial to give them a few more days off because it has been a short break for them. They've only had about three or three-and-a-half weeks off so I felt that it was more important to give them a proper rest and then we'd still have a month to prepare for the European games. James is okay. He has been doing a lot of work over the last few days. He's been working hard, along with Tim. I hope they will be back in full training quite quickly. They're certainly putting in the effort and I have been very pleased by what I have seen of them so far. They are making good progress." Source: ScottishFitba
