Transfer news: Inter Milan confirm Tottenham interest in Fredy Guarin

Inter Milan president Massimo Moratti has confirmed that Tottenham Hotspur are among those interested in Fredy Guarin. The Colombian midfielder is said to be a transfer target for clubs across Europe ahead of the re-opening of the transfer window. Spurs are reported to have been following the 26-year-old for some time, and could be set to make their move this summer. Inter would be reluctant to part with a man who has become a regular in their side since completing a permanent switch from Porto in 2012, but concede that interest in his services is building. Moratti said: "Guarin? He is a really good player and for that reason he is liked by others. "Tottenham are really interested." While Spurs are among those plotting a summer raid, ambitious Russian outfit Anzhi Makhachkala have moved to distance themselves from reports suggesting they are planning an approach. A statement on the club's official website read: "Regarding the rumours on Fredy Guarin, we deny holding an interest in the player. "These assumptions are without substance, as they also are about (Roberto) Soldado and (Pierre-Emerick) Aubameyang. "The Anzhi name is used to fuel talks and increase a player's value. There aren't any negotiations under way."
