Davies notes 'long ball' Spurs

The two sides played out an entertaining 1-1 draw at the Reebok Stadum on Sunday as a Jermain Defoe effort cancelled out Davies' opener.Davies provided the finish to a well-worked passing move to break the deadlock after 34 minutes and he was delighted with the way Bolton performed. The Trotters are widely regarded as a team that plays to their physical strengths and Davies feels they should get more credit when they produce a stylish display like they did against Spurs.Tottenham's own approach has come under scrutiny in recent weeks and Davies thinks they played a lot of long balls to Peter Crouch.Davies can understand why Spurs would look to utilise Crouch's height but reckons Bolton were more attractive to watch on this occasion."We played some good stuff in this one. We're still labelled a certain way," the striker said in The Sun."But Tottenham played a lot of long balls into Crouchy, he's a good weapon."I just felt the roles were reversed a bit today."Tottenham will be favourites to come out on top in the replay at White Hart Lane but Davies is confident Bolton can progress to the quarter-finals."We've lost the home advantage but we've proved we can outplay them. The amount of chances we created gives us hope," he explained."We'll go down there and give it a good go. We're still in the hat."
