Jackett Leads Blades Charge

Former Millwall manager Kenny Jackett could be Sheffield United boss, if he turns down League One rivals Wolverhampton Wanderers. With Stuart McCall turning down the opportunity to manage his former playing club the Blades board must turn their attentions to a new successor. Caretaker manager Chris Morgan is still believed to be in the running but Kenny jacket, who resigned as Millwall boss a few weeks ago has become the front runner to take the Bramall Lane hot seat but is also being chased by manager less Wolves. Jackett, 51 had a long established career with Watford as a player; playing over 300 times between 1980 and 1990 whilst also winning 31 caps for Wales. His CV is quite interesting; with Swansea City he won the Football League Trophy in 2006 and in the same year missed out on promotion – losing on penalties to Barnsley in the League One Play-Off Final. With Millwall he was successful in the same final; beating Danny Wilson’s Swindon Town in the 2010 final at the new Wembley. Jackett had been unsuccessful a year previous when they lost 3-2 to Scunthorpe United. Source: Blades-Mad
