Toon Kids Win 6-0

Brad Inman shone for Newcastle United as the curtain came down on Consett's Belle Vue home tonight. The midfielder, back from a successful loan spell at Crewe Alexandra, scored two goals and won a penalty in a 6-0 win. Inman - who was in the Crewe side which won the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy at Wembley last month - gave United an early lead, the midfielder racing through the middle before rounding goalkeeper Peter Jameson and rolling the ball into an empty net. The 21-year-old won the spot kick converted early in the second half by captain James Tavernier, and added the third himself. Rolando Aarons made it 4-0 in the 55th minute after a shot from Jonathyn Quinn was parried to him by Jameson. Quinn added a fifth for Newcastle on the hour, and defender Remie Streete, from South Shields, netted from close range late in the game after a corner wasn’t cleared by the home side. The game was Consett’s last at Belle Vue, it’s home since 1950. The Northern League club will move to a new stadium in time for next season.
