Pitch invader escapes ban

An Iron fan has escaped a ban from matches after running onto the pitch during the final game of the season. Magistrates opted against issuing a banning order to Simon Rusling, but  the pitch invader was fined £370 for the offence, as well as being ordered to pay court costs of £85 and a £37 victims' surcharge. The incident happened during the Iron's 3-1 victory over Swindon Town at Glanford Park on Saturday, April 27 – after which the club were relegated to League Two. The game was marred by ugly scenes in the Grove Wharf Corner and the car park at the final whistle.     Source: Iron-Bru.net
