Stanley hold on for stalemate

Though Keith Alexander's men were unlucky to hit the woodwork twice, it was really a lack of composure in front of goal that saw them stumble to their 12th draw of the season.Accrington striker Bobby Grant had two early shots saved easily by John Brain but it was Macclesfield who had a golden chance just after the half-hour mark when Ross Draper picked out Ben Wright who controlled neatly only to lump an eight-yard volley over. Michael Symes then released Grant at the other end but the striker sliced wide from 15 yards. The home side went close just before the break when teenage centre-back Shaun Brisley rose above the defence at the far post, only to plant Izak Reid's cross against the foot of the post. After the break ex-Liverpool trainee Craig Lindfield twice tested Accrington keeper Ian Dunbavin, first with a low shot from a narrow angle and then when he had broken past the offside trap only to see his 15-yard shot parried onto the post.At the death midfield man Jimmy Ryan went close for Accrington, sliding a 20-yard drive wide of the far post.
