Panucci turns down chance to leave Roma for the Premier League

Hull and Manchester Cityhave missed out on the chance to sign veteran Roma defender Christian Panucci who will remain at the club until the end of the season, according to his agent.   The 35-year-old announced last week his wish to leave Roma after failing to earn a regular spot in Luciano Spalletti's starting XI, alerting Premiership interest. Staying put: Panucci will remain in Italy despite failing to make the Roma starting line-upHowever, his agent Oscar Damiani said: "Christian will remain at Roma and will respect his contract, though we have not been able to resolve his situation.  "We haven't been able to reach an agreement, as the offers we received were not considered good enough by the player."   Panucci, who joined Roma from Inter Milan in 2001, has yet to extend his contract  which ends in June with the Giallorossi.
