Sammy Ameobi says Boro have toughened him up in the Championship, even though the club have dropped out of the promotion race since he joined. Sammy is on a half-season loan at promotion-chasing Middlesbrough, and he is hoping to help the club win promotion to the Premier League. Sammy Ameobi: “It’s going well - I’m glad to be getting some games under my belt. “I’m feeling part of the team. Hopefully, I’ll continue getting games and impress the manager. "Games are what I need for my confidence and development as a player. “I’m playing week in, week out, and keeping my fitness levels on. “Middlesbrough are trying to get in the play-offs, and I’m trying my best to help the club do that. “It’s not easy. The ball turns over a lot more. There’s a lot more running. You have to be strong, but I’m enjoying every minute of it. “Hopefully, we’ll get that play-off spot, and Newcastle are doing great right now, especially in Europe. “I’ve already taken a lot from the games I’ve played, and I’m stronger physically. “Hopefully, I can bring that back to Newcastle.”
