Tilson upbeat despite defeat

Southend boss Steve Tilson took heart from certain aspects of his side's display in their 2-0 defeat to Essex rivals Colchester. Antony Wordsworth grabbed goals in either half to secure victory for the promotion-chasing Us, but Tilson was keen to look at the positives despite his disappointment at the final score. "I'm pleased with our performance - just not the result," he said. "The chances were there for us with Francis Laurent, Scott Spencer and Matt Paterson all having good opportunities but we need to put them away and cut out the sloppiness at the other end too." Tilson knows his side face a battle to stay up with only two points separating them from the relegation zone. "I think we need six more wins and a draw to stay up. We're definitely in a relegation fight though and I think we have been for two or three weeks."
