Dundee United manager Peter Houston was thrilled to see his team progress to the quarter-finals of the Active Nation Scottish Cup with a 1-0 victory at St Johnstone.
David Goodwillie`s solitary strike proved enough for United as they kept a clean sheet after losing seven goals in their past two games.
A delighted Houston said: "I'm absolutely delighted with the performance, especially in the first-half where we tried to play and we created chances.
"Everything stems from how you do at the back and we have lost a lot of goals recently, three or four from corners last week.
"But I thought our back four was absolutely magnificent.
"I also thought we dominated in the middle of the park and I thought we played whereas I felt St Johnstone just battered it from back to front and we had to be strong."
