Torquay boss Paul Buckle admitted he was left bitterly disappointed after his side crashed to a 1-0 defeat at Hereford.
Gavin McCallum marked a successful return to the side by netting a 22nd-minute winner for the Bulls.
Torquay are now without a win in their last seven games and Buckle felt they deserved more from the match.
"We started the game very well again but it seems to be a mirror of the last six or seven games if I am honest" said Buckle.
"We were in the game for long long spells but we failed to get the ball into the net. Then we were hit by a sucker punch on their first attempt on goal so I'm bitterly disappointed and it's a tough one to take again.
"But we have got to be strong and stick together - the players have got to realise we have all got to get better. But I don't think Hereford were better than us."
