Holloway believed Palace were unlucky not to have come away with at least a
point, insisting: “That performance was as good as I’ve seen since I’ve been
here. We’ve got to show now that we can recover. We at least deserved a
point but sometimes football isn’t fair.”
After an uncomfortable opening 15 minutes, Palace took contro,l with Owen
Garvan, Jonathan Parr, Glenn Murray and Peter Ramage all guilty of spurning
chances.
Wilfried Zaha also had a penalty appeal waved away on half-time but, for all
their attacking intent, it was their usually solid back-line that proved
their undoing, with both Leeds goals preventable.
The first came via a mix up between Damien Delaney and Peter Ramage, which
allowed Luciano Becchio to steal in and finish from close range.
The second again involved Ramage who deflected Paul Green’s shot beyond the
dive of Julian Speroni.
