Doris has the final say

Scarcely deserved but crucial From the Daily Record:  Arbroath 2 Stranraer 1: Injury-time winner leaves Blues shattered A VOLLEY from Steven Doris saw Arbroath move back into the Second Division promotion reckoning. ARBROATH striker Steven Doris snatched an injury-time winner to move the Gayfield men back into the promotion race. Doris netted a late volley just as it looked certain a stubborn Stranraer side would claim a point. Against the run of play, the hosts took the lead midway through the first half when Paul Currie pounced on a spilled shot to smash home. It should have been 2-0 in 32 minutes as Derek Holmes crashed a header off the post before scooping a six-yard sitter over an empty net. Holmes was left to rue the miss as Robert Love levelled in 48 minutes from a Sean Winter cross. But Doris had the final say with a stunning volley to snatch a scarcely-deserved win.
