Birmingham keeper Jack Butland insists players are focused on football

Birmingham goalkeeper Jack Butland says the players are focused on their jobs despite the takeover interest surrounding the club. While three groups are attempting to purchase the Championship outfit from present owner Carson Yeung, Butland insists it is business as usual for the Blues' playing staff. "You can talk about it, but there's nothing we can do about it as players," the 19-year-old England international told the Birmingham Mail. "We can only control what we do on the pitch and what we do on the training ground. What happens with the board, with the owners and a possible takeover is meaningless until something actually does happen." Acting City chairman Peter Pannu has been holding talks with an Italian consortium fronted by Gianni Paladini, who are reported to be preparing an improved £30m offer, as well as a Chinese-Hong Kong party, while there has also been interest from India.
