Stevenage V Shrewsbury at The Lamex Stadium : Match Preview

Thalassitis in line for Boro start Michael Thalassitis is pushing for a place in the Stevenage line-up for the visit of Shrewsbury. The 19-year-old striker climbed off the bench to score Boro's consolation goal in Tuesday night's 4-1 Capital One Cup defeat by Southampton. Defender Lee Hills is still building up his fitness after his summer move from Crystal Palace but boss Gary Smith has no other injury absentees. On-loan Leeds winger Robbie Rodgers made his full debut against Saints but Robin Shroot replaced him in the second half and is pushing to reclaim his place in the starting XI. Boro are currently unbeaten in League One with seven points from their opening three matches of the season. Shrewsbury will assess the fitness of Michael Hector. The centre-back, on loan from Reading, tweaked his knee in training earlier this week and will be monitored in the build-up to the encounter. Reuben Hazell and Connor Goldson are on standby should they be required, with manager Graham Turner yet to make any changes to his starting XI for Town's first three league fixtures of the season. Hazell and Goldson are just two of several players knocking on the door for starts, with winger Jon Taylor at the front of the queue having bagged a brace in a 4-0 midweek reserve victory over Oldham. Midfielder Asa Hall - fit after a dead leg - Tom Bradshaw, Joe Jacobson and Aaron Wildig are also looking to break into a Shrews line-up which has started the season strongly.
