Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger: We can beat Chelsea and Liverpool

Arsene Wenger has made it clear he believes Arsenal are mentally strong enough to meet their next challenges head on. After losing so meekly at home to Manchester United last Sunday they face two crucial games - against leaders Chelsea at Stamford Bridge tomorrow and Liverpool at the Emirates in midweek. Setback: Arsenal keeper Almunia paws Nani's cross into his own net Wenger admitted: 'There is a lot of scepticism around us at the moment and we have to show everybody how strong we are. I am convinced that we are capable of winning anywhere in the world. I believe that if we play at our best we will win and I know how much the players need this kind of win. 'This team is mentally strong and dedicated. But because they have not won yet they make it a bit harder in their heads to win than it is. We played with the handbrake on a little bit against United. 'If we are in a strong position after these games, we don't have to play Chelsea, Manchester United, Liverpool, Aston Villa, Everton again this season. Six points behind Chelsea is not dramatic.'  Didier Drogba and Wayne Rooney are the best strikers I've faced, admits Arsenal defender Thomas VermaelenEverton striker Louis Saha closes door on Arsenal move as he signs new contract
