The 34-year-old former Hearts, Leeds United, Aberdeen and Leicester City defender has signed a 1-year-deal at Easter Road, and his strongest position is right back, which suggests Tim Clancy could be moving in field to partner James McPake in the centre of defence. The past five weeks have been really enjoyable and now I want to help the team to kick-on and experience some success. "It is part of the twists and turns of football that my Hibs debut could potentially be against Hearts, where I experienced three-and-a-half great years. "That's a challenge that really excites me and, if I'm given an opportunity, I will look to use my experience to help Hibs record a victory." Hibs boss Pat Fenlon added: "Alan is a player who will add experience and versatility to the squad and I'm pleased to be able to sign him. "He will help the development of our young players while also making a positive contribution on the pitch." Welcome to the club Alan. Let's hope the club will now back the manager in bringing in a creative midfielder or two and a big dominant striker.
