Clough: Martin move could happen

The in-form winger, who is out of contract in the summer, travelled north to discuss personal terms and undergo a medical with the Championship club on Monday after Lions boss Kenny Jackett accepted a bid for his services. But the move failed to materialise before the 5pm deadline after discussions between Martin, his agent and the club broke down. However, Rams boss Clough has revealed the move could be resurrected when the emergency loan window opens on Monday.Clough told the Derby Telegraph: "We got very close to completing a deal and it may well still happen, albeit it in a different format. Unfortunately, there were a couple of complications."There is an option to do a loan next week and then a permanent move in the summer, so that is something we are thinking about."
