Hearts sack manager Csaba Laszlo after Hungarian voices transfer frustration

Broken Hearts: Csaba Laszlo Hearts have announced the departure of Csaba Laszlo from the club with immediate effect. The 45-year-old leaves after a year and a half in charge at Tynecastle, making him the longest serving boss of the Vladimir Romanov era.The club said in a statement on their official website: 'The club has begun the search for his replacement and hopes to make the new appointment at the earliest opportunity.'There was no indication of the Hungarian's imminent departure when he gave his usual press conference on Friday morning, a day ahead of Hearts Scottish Premier League match at St Johnstone.Laszlo had spoken of his frustration at failing to sign new players, but gave the impression he would still be in place for the fixture at McDiarmid Park.Asked this morning if he expected to make a signing over the weekend, Laszlo said: "This is a question which I think I've got 2,500,083 times."I don't think that now in these two days something will happen. The club's had one month and nobody's come."If somebody comes, it's a bonus. I've been here for 19 months and all the time the problem's been there." Mid-table battlers: Hearts' Jason Thomson (centre) vies with Rangers' Steven Whittaker Laszlo also maintained there had been no bid from Celtic for left-back Lee Wallace, amid reports the clubs had agreed a fee."I talked with my sport director and he told me he didn't have any information about this," he said. And referring to rumours Middlesbrough boss Gordon Strachan was at Hearts' defeat against Aberdeen on Wednesday night to watch Wallace, he added: "I read my friend Gordon was here from Middlesbrough to watch him but I think he watched the game."We have two days to go and, in these two days, if somebody takes Lee Wallace, it's very bad for us. We don't have a replacement."Laszlo believes if Wallace is allowed to leave, he must be able to draft somebody else in. He admitted he had a name in mind, but added: "If it's in my head, it's not enough. The board decide."  Hearts win the battle for 24-year-old Falkirk skipper Darren BarrRangers 1 Hearts 1: Smith content with draw after Little's late levellerEXCLUSIVE: Boro fail in £3.5m bid to sign Celtic striker Scott McDonaldTHE INSIDER: Spurs court Kyle Naughton suitors, Birmingham join Boselli queue, Stoke's battle for Huseklepp and Wolves step up pursuit of Rover Roberts
