Michael Dawson earns new Tottenham contract

Dawson, the Tottenham supporters' Team Player of the Year last season, joined the club from Nottingham Forest in January 2005. Dawson said: 'I was at Nottingham Forest from a young age and stayed for a long time but then Tottenham came along and I was keen to further my career and play in the Premier League. Fulham join Tottenham in the race to sign Ruud van Nistelrooy from Real Madrid'I have loved it here ever since I first signed and so it was an easy decision to extend my stay at the Club, I never hesitated. 'This is a club that wants to be fighting to finish in the top four on a regular basis and challenging for silverware. Giovani, still only 20, joined Spurs for £4.7m, and will spend the next six months in Turkey alongside other recent Premier League recruits, Manchester City striker Jo and Everton's Lucas Neill.
